What this is and isn't. Asheville and Hendersonville are already measured for other subscribers, so we can tell you your rate at no cost: you appear in none of the five phrasings for either. Pisgah Forest is not indexed yet, so we make no claim about it. These towns are not on your plan, so the rate is all we show — no competitors, no ranks, no findings, no history. Adding a town diagnoses why the number looks like that.

Context worth holding: Brevard's population is roughly 7,800. Asheville is over 94,000 and sits roughly twenty miles away, and three of the four general practices in your peer set carry an Asheville address.

You can check your rate in any town we have indexed, free and without an account, on our scan page. Added markets appear on your next invoice and are included in the following month's report. Any town you mark as outside your service area stops appearing here.

What the measurement indicates · severity ordered · each with the standard remedy

High MeasuredVerified public data

A paediatric-only practice is absorbing general-dentistry visibility at your address

Acorn Grove Pediatric Dentistry treats children only. It operates at 118 Sycamore Ridge Ln, Suite 100, Brevard, NC 28712 — the same street address as your Suite A — and it is being returned at position 1 or 2 for general "best dentists in Brevard" queries, where it is not a valid answer for an adult patient.

Two things are compounding. The shared street address makes the two practices hard to separate, and neither listing states its scope in a way an assistant can act on. The result is that a slot in the general-dentistry answer — a slot you should hold — is going to a practice that cannot serve the person asking.

This is a category-resolution problem, not a competitive one. They are not taking your patients; they are taking your visibility.

Standard remedy: make scope explicit and machine-readable on your side. State "family and general dentistry — adults and children" in your Google Business Profile description and site copy, select the general dentistry primary category rather than a broad "dentist" category, and include the suite number as a non-optional part of your name-address-phone everywhere. Structured data should declare practice type alongside address. The clearer your own scope, the less the shared address matters.
High Measured

Your peer set is Asheville-addressed, and Brevard is a small market

Three of the four general practices competing with you in Brevard answers — Maple Hollow Dental, Foxglove Dental Group, Quarry Ridge Dental — carry an Asheville address, while Copper Kettle Dental sits in Hendersonville. The nearest of the three, Quarry Ridge Dental, is roughly twenty miles away.

Brevard's population is roughly 7,800; Asheville is over 94,000. A patient near the edge of the two searches whichever name they believe applies to them. We have not measured Asheville queries and cannot say how you perform there — see the recommendation above.

Standard remedy: declare the surrounding communities you serve explicitly — in your Google Business Profile service area, in your site copy, and via areaServed in structured data, naming each town identically everywhere. Note that we do not measure towns outside your plan; adding one measures and diagnoses its queries directly rather than inferring anything from your Brevard data.
Medium Measured

You do not appear on urgency-framed queries

You are named for "family dentist" and "accepting new patients" but absent from both "which dentist should I go to right now" and "emergency dentist near Brevard." Urgency phrasings are among the highest-intent a patient uses — someone asking that is choosing today, not researching.

Nothing in your public listing or site copy states same-day, urgent or emergency availability, so there is nothing for an assistant to retrieve on those phrasings.

Standard remedy: if you accept urgent or same-day appointments, state it explicitly in the Google Business Profile description, as a service item, and in plain text on the site. If you do not accept them, this finding is not actionable and can be dismissed — we will stop reporting it.
Medium Verified public data

Review volume is roughly a third of the corridor leader

Your 4.9★ rating ties the highest among general practices — quality is not the gap. Within your actual peer set, Maple Hollow Dental carries 912 reviews against your 289, Foxglove Dental Group 634, Copper Kettle Dental 549, and Quarry Ridge Dental 318. You sit last of five. Assistants weigh volume and recency as prominence signals, so a practice mentioned three times as often reads as three times as established.

Worth noting for context: the specialist practices nearby carry high counts too, but they are not competing for the same patient. Your gap is against the four general practices above, three of which are Asheville-addressed.

Standard remedy: a sustained review request habit at checkout rather than a one-off campaign — assistants weight recent, steady activity over totals. Reply to every review, including older ones; responses are additional readable content on the profile. Do not incentivise, gate, or filter requests; it violates Google policy and puts the profile at risk.
Medium Verified public data

Your Wednesday evening hours are a differentiator that machines may not surface

You are open until 7:00 PM on Wednesdayswhile most practices in the set close at 5:00 PM, and two close entirely on Fridays. For a working patient that is a decisive difference — but it only reaches an assistant's answer if every public source states it identically and in machine-readable form.

Standard remedy: verify the Wednesday hours are identical across Google, your website, and every directory, and state evening availability in plain text on the site rather than only inside an hours graphic.
Medium Inferred

No third-party editorial footprint located

The practices named consistently across these queries tend to appear in regional coverage and local "best of" roundups. We found no significant editorial mention placing Sparrow Hollow Family Dental in the Western North Carolina dental conversation. Assistants lean disproportionately on independent sources when composing recommendations, because they cannot evaluate clinical quality directly.

Standard remedy: pursue mentions in local publications and community directories — the Brevardand Asheville chambers, regional lifestyle press, and any "new in Brevard" business coverage. A chamber directory listing is typically straightforward to obtain and is exactly the source class assistants retrieve.
Strength Verified public data

Your reviews describe a distinctive position that appears nowhere machine-readable

A recurring theme in your public reviews: patients arriving after being over-quoted or misdiagnosed elsewhere, dental-anxiety accommodation, staged treatment plans built around cost and comfort, and unusually advanced imaging. Several reviewers describe the practice as the place they went for an honest second opinion.

That is a clear, differentiated identity, and assistants can only retrieve it from unstructured review text at the moment. Nothing on your own site or profile states it.

Standard remedy: state the position explicitly in your Google Business Profile description and in a dedicated page on your site — second opinions, anxiety-sensitive care, transparent treatment planning. Assistants retrieve stated associations far more reliably than ones they must infer from reviews.

What next month's report measures

The same measurement, repeated — so change is visible

  • Recommendation rate across the same five Brevard phrasings and five assistants, with the change from this month
  • Position when named, and whether the paediatric practice continues to occupy a slot in general-dentistry answers
  • Competitor movement — review counts, new entrants, and anyone gaining or losing ground in the corridor
  • Citation footprint — which sources assistants drew on, and whether any new source mentions you
  • Information accuracy — hours, address, suite and phone consistency across every public source we monitor
  • Market-wide shifts — if every practice moves at once, we record it as a model update rather than a change on your side

Methodology & limitations

What we measure. Five phrasings per category, put to five AI assistants, recording which practices each names and in what order. Recommendation rate is the share of phrasings naming this practice. Five is a minimum, not a target — three phrasings can only return 0, 33, 67 or 100 per cent, which is too coarse to show real movement and lets one unusual result swing the number by a third.

Recommended towns. We do not measure towns outside your plan. The recommendation is based on distance and population from our own reference data, and makes no claim about your performance in those towns.

Findings are tagged. Measured comes directly from assistant output. Verified public data comes from public listing records. Inferred is an informed hypothesis about cause and has not been directly observed.

We report; we do not warrant. Each finding includes the standard remedy used in the industry. Whether it is implemented, and how assistants subsequently respond, is outside our control. We make no claim about rank, timing, or patient volume. What we provide is measurement — you will see precisely what changed, every month, and whether it changed for you alone or for the whole market.

Assistant output varies between runs. The same phrasing can return a slightly different list. Rate across multiple phrasings is the honest metric; a single answer is not.

Sample notice. This entire report is fictional. The practice name, every competitor, every rating, review count, address and hour, and every assistant response shown above is invented to illustrate the report's format — none of it describes or makes any claim about a real business, and none of it was retrieved from any live source.
